About the Series

The Girl of Steel

Kara Zor-El was just a girl when Krypton was destroyed, sent to Earth alongside her infant cousin Kal-El with a mission to protect him. Thrown off course and trapped in the Phantom Zone for years, Kara arrives on Earth an adult, decades after her cousin — who has already grown up to become Superman. Raised by the Danvers family and hiding her powers to fit in, Kara spends years suppressing her abilities, until a disaster threatens National City and she can no longer stand by and do nothing. Embracing her destiny as Supergirl, Kara balances protecting her city from aliens, super-villains, and government conspiracies with her day job as a reporter for CatCo Worldwide Media, all while navigating what it means to be a hero in her own right — not just Superman's cousin.
