A Story Only She Can Tell
Frannie Langton is found unconscious in a locked room beside the bodies of her employers, George and Marguerite Benham — with no memory of what happened. As she awaits trial for a murder she cannot recall committing, Frannie's story unfolds across two timelines: her childhood on a Jamaican plantation under the "scientific" cruelty of her enslaver, John Langton, and her arrival in Georgian London as a maid in the Benham household, where an intense, forbidden bond with Marguerite blurs the lines between servant and mistress, love and obsession. Told through Frannie's own unreliable, defiant testimony, the series asks who gets to be believed — and what it costs a woman like her to tell the truth.
